The Cheater is an easy turning surf-carver with an abundance of edghold. We’ve tailored the sidecut for a blisteringly fast response to any rider input. It’s got a blunt nose profile, with a tighter entry radius in the early rise, which we combined with a short half moon tail. Three layers of rubber dampening make for a ride that’s smooth as butter on hardpack. The nose rocker makes turning easy and creates float. Additional carbon stringers in the tail section add longitudinal snap. A precise and highly manoeuvrable board for cruising and carving. The 170 comes in a x-wide version for the 2026 season.

PROFILE

 

  • Standard Camber
    The center of the board has 9-13 mm of camber. Camber gives the board its edge hold and stability at high speed. With just a little early rise for ease of turning.

 

  • Blunt Nose
    More ease of turning and the effective edge length in relation to the boardlength is increased. This would make it possible to ride the board slightly shorter than you are used to.
  • Setback
    Setback puts you further behind on your board. The weight transfer to the rear reduces fatigue in your back leg when riding powder. In addition, setback helps when carving to compensate for your forward turn initiation.

 

CORE

 

  • Ash/Poplar Core
    Stranda uses ash wood and a small amount of poplar in their cores. Ash wood is quite flexible and therefore dampens vibrations easily. In addition, the board retains its camber longer. Poplar keeps the weight down.

 

REINFORCEMENTS

 

  • Triax Glass
    Fiberglass woven in three directions. This provides torsional stiffness and a better response.
  • Carbon Torsion Rods
    Carbon strips have been added in the core. This gives the board more torsional stiffness and pop.

 

TOPSHEET

 

  • Bamboo Topsheet
    Bamboo is very flexible and can withstand stress well. In addition to the beautiful appearance, the topsheet helps absorb vibrations and gives the board some extra pop.

 

BASE

 

  • Sintered 4001 Durasurf Base
    A good and fast base that retains its properties for a long time.

 

OTHERS

 

  • 4x2 Mounting
    Standard inserts. A multitude of options for mounting your binding. Not suitable for channel bindings.
