Description
Pure Performance! The DNA crampon is at just 295 grams the lightest racing crampon on the market today and was developed especially for discerning skimo athletes.
On steep, icy, sections where you must carry your skis and for technical peak bagging, crampons are an absolute must for safety. Naturally, skimo athletes prefer not to carry around a single gram too much in order to be as fast and efficient as possible.
The 10 point DNA crampon is made completely of aluminum and can be folded up small and compactly to fit in any backpack. Particularly practical: There is no difference between the left and right so you don’t have to spend time pondering anymore which is which. Fitting is easily and quickly accomplished based on sole length (260 to 333 mm), no tools needed. They can be attached to touring skis in seconds and guarantee a reliable fit without any play plus secure traction on ice and hard snow thanks to the steel cable.
The DNA crampon comes standard as a fully automatic version, but if needed it can be converted quickly and easily to have a toe bail for a semi-automatic version. In addition, an optional anti-balling plate can be attached at the front points. It comes in a practical hard case for well-protected transportation. DNA crampon – the lightest racing crampon in the world.
S+W Verdict:
“Incredibly light and brilliantly thought out. This crampon is quick to fit and great to use, and at 295 grams will add as little weight as possible to your setup. They are made for skim racing, but for a lot of lightweight tourers who don’t tend to need crampons very often they could be perfect, taking up minimal space and weight in your pack and giving superb performance when you need them.”
