3-finger mitt, with separation for index finger and thumb. Internally, the 3 fingers are free to communicate their warmth to each other. Note that you can also use it with the index finger in this “3-finger” area, in very cold weather. The mitt is wide enough.

In extreme temperatures, they usually add a simple plastic bag over their mittens. Here’s the improved, prettier version! The over-mitt is included in a zipped pocket on the palm side of the cuff. It’s easy to place in flight, or on take-off.

Zipped pocket on the back of the hand, foruse as aheater in particularly cold weather. Kept open, this pocket also regulates internal temperature between seasons.

The agility of the forefinger and thumb means that inflation and take-off are effortless, with gloves in place on the hands. High aspect ratio wings are often inflated via the center line only, and these gloves are ideally suited to the task.
